Get to know Lisa a little!

Hi! I’m Lisa Allen Shropshire. Welcome to my art licensing brand book. Let me fill you in on my illustrative journey.
My professional background is in illustration, graphic design and art direction. A few years ago, after a long career in magazine publication and agency work, I ventured out on my own to embrace my true love, illustration. All I knew at first was I wanted to draw cute, whimsical stuff because that’s what made me happy. (Well, you have to start somewhere, right?) The cuter the better! Give me precious with a side of charming and sprinkle it with happiness, please!
This quest for fulfillment mixed with a desire to offer kids a hands-on creative experience led to my five self-published coloring books which all include a color-it-yourself craft or game. I then pulled inspiration from those characters to create additional paper products like gift wrap and stickers. That's where I discovered a new passion... surface patterns! A whole new world opened up for exploration and here I am. I recently launched my Lizzy Doodle Publishing website where I pedal my print-on-demand wares while continually moving toward the ultimate goal of building an art licensing career.
I’m ready to tackling a wide range of art licensing projects. In addition to the many social expression product ideas you'll see in my brand book I'd love to illustrate children’s books, games, toys, wall art, home decor, textiles, back to school... really anything whimsical, holiday themed or made for kids gets me excited! I'm always open to collaboration and making adjustments to fulfill a client's specific needs. I can also do the design and layout, if needed. Sign me up! I'm ready to go!
I’d describe my style as “gouache inspired” using vintage textures. My illustrations are 100% vector art created in Adobe Illustrator. They are warm and joyful while expressing feelings of love and kindness. I’m also an expert in Photoshop and InDesign which helps on the design end.
